How it plays

How does Hexxagon 2 play?

The board is viewed from above and is divided into connected hexagonal spaces. On a turn, a player selects one of their pieces and either creates a neighboring copy or jumps to a more distant legal space.

After placement, adjacent enemy pieces are converted. The objective is to control more spaces than the opponent when no useful moves remain or the board is filled. The central progression is positional rather than character-based: each move changes the available options for later turns.

What is the best way to play Hexxagon 2?

Protect pieces near the center when possible, because central positions usually offer more future moves and capture opportunities. A copied piece increases territory but may also leave the original piece exposed to conversion.

Before moving, check every adjacent space around the destination. Capturing several opposing pieces at once is often stronger than gaining a single empty space, but avoid opening a path that lets the opponent surround your new position.
