How it plays

How does Imperium Galactica play?

The strategic layer presents a galactic map where the player manages colonies, fleets, research, production, diplomacy, and territorial expansion. Colonies can be developed with buildings and defenses, while ships and military units require resources and technological investment.

When forces meet, battles are fought in real time from a tactical space view. The player assigns movement and attack orders, protects important vessels, and uses the capabilities unlocked through research. Campaign progress depends on securing systems, improving infrastructure, and completing scenario objectives.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Imperium Galactica?

Develop a stable economic base before expanding too quickly. Upgrade productive colonies and maintain defenses around important research and industrial worlds.

Research should support a clear military or economic plan rather than spreading investment across every branch. Before starting a major war, assemble fleets near the target, protect supply and production capacity, and avoid committing every ship to one battle.

Use diplomacy when it buys time, but monitor rival expansion and strengthen border systems before relations deteriorate.

Before you begin

What should you know before playing?

  1. 1

Improve key colonies before founding or capturing too many additional worlds.

  2. 2

Keep separate defensive and offensive fleets so a surprise attack does not expose the entire empire.

  3. 3

Save before major diplomatic decisions and difficult tactical engagements.
