Lord Bounty
The player-controlled royal champion who searches for the Sceptre of Order.
How it plays
The world is viewed from an overhead perspective. The hero travels across land and water, visits towns and castles, recruits creatures, collects treasure, and searches for clues related to the Sceptre of Order.
Battles take place on separate tactical maps. The hero commands stacks of creatures, while enemy armies are controlled by the game. Units move and attack in turns, and the hero can use spells and special abilities. Progress depends on building a stronger army, increasing leadership, managing gold, and completing the quest before the campaign timer expires.
Plan your run
Recruit units that match your current leadership and preserve expensive troops whenever possible. Morale affects performance, so avoid mixing incompatible creature types without a clear reason.
Explore efficiently and watch the campaign timer. Build a reliable income, collect useful artifacts, and use spells to compensate for weaknesses in your army. Save difficult fights for situations where the expected reward justifies the losses.

The king who assigns Lord Bounty the quest to recover the Sceptre of Order.
Before you begin
Keep enough gold available for recruitment and avoid needless casualties.
Use the world map to scout routes, treasure, and enemy strength before committing to a battle.
Remember that the main objective is time-sensitive; wandering without gaining resources can cost the campaign.
King's Bounty is a fantasy turn-based strategy role-playing game developed and published by New World Computing for DOS. The player takes the role of a royal champion charged with recovering the lost Sceptre of Order before the kingdom falls into chaos. Exploration, army recruitment, tactical battles, treasure hunting, and time management form the core experience. The game uses an overhead world map for travel and separate turn-based battle screens for combat. Its open-ended structure, unusual emphasis on morale and unit leadership, and blend of adventure and strategy gave it a distinctive identity. It was well received for its depth and originality and became the foundation for the later Heroes of Might and Magic series.
