How it plays
Matches use a side-view court and focus on two-player teams. The objective is to win rallies, score points, and take the required number of games against the opposing pair.
Players serve, move into position, receive the ball, set it, and attack over the net. Play can be arranged as an individual match or as a tournament-style sequence, with progress depending on victories. Success relies on anticipating the ball, covering open space, and choosing safe or aggressive returns.
Plan your run
Stay near the area your teammate cannot cover, especially after a difficult receive. A controlled return is often more valuable than attempting a risky attack from a poor position.
Use the serve to put pressure on the opponent, then watch the ball rather than chasing the opposing player. Move early to get underneath high balls and keep the rally under control before attempting a decisive shot.

Before you begin
Move early toward the expected landing point instead of reacting at the last moment.
Keep the two players spaced so one does not leave the opposite side of the court uncovered.
Favor reliable returns while learning the timing of serves and attacks.
Kings of the Beach is a beach-volleyball sports game developed and published by Electronic Arts for DOS. It presents two-on-two volleyball with an emphasis on serving, positioning, timing, and teamwork rather than on a large roster of fictional athletes. Matches are played from a side-view perspective, with the computer or another player providing the opposition. The game includes competitive play and a tournament-style progression in which successful teams advance through increasingly demanding matches. Its straightforward controls and quick rallies made it approachable on home computers, while the need to place shots and coordinate both players supplied more depth than a purely reflex-based sports game. Contemporary reception generally recognized it as an entertaining and accessible volleyball adaptation, although its graphics and presentation are limited by the hardware of the period.
