Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The game uses a top-down, isometric-style battlefield view. The main objective varies by mission: destroy an enemy base, protect a position, escort units, gather resources, or survive an attack.
Players place structures, harvest resources, research or unlock military production, and command infantry, vehicles, and specialist units. Campaigns are organized by faction and mission, while skirmish play emphasizes base building and direct combat. Terrain, unit range, defensive structures, and resource placement strongly affect progression.
Plan your run
Expand cautiously and secure resource fields before committing to large attacks. Keep production buildings active, protect harvesters with combat units, and scout enemy defenses before sending slow vehicles forward.
Use each faction according to its strengths rather than relying on one universal army. Repair or replace damaged units, preserve experienced forces when possible, and establish defensive positions around important approaches.
Before you begin
Scout resource areas and enemy defenses before building a large army.
Protect harvesters and keep a steady production queue.
Use terrain and defensive structures to offset expensive unit losses.
KKND: Krush, Kill 'n' Destroy Xtreme is a post-apocalyptic real-time strategy game developed by Beam Software and published by Melbourne House for DOS. It places three factions—Survivors, Evolved mutants, and Series 9 machines—against one another in a devastated future where resources and territory are scarce. Players build bases, gather resources, produce military units, and complete objectives across campaign missions or skirmishes. Xtreme expands the original KKND formula with additional missions and a broader selection of battles. Its combination of base construction, vehicle warfare, and asymmetric factions earned it a modest following among DOS strategy players, although its interface and pathfinding can feel dated today.
