Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The game uses a top-down, isometric-style battlefield view. Players harvest oil and other resources, establish a base, construct production and research facilities, and create armies to complete mission objectives.
Campaign missions are organized around faction-specific objectives such as destroying an enemy base, defending a position, or securing territory. Players explore the map, manage power and resources, use infantry, vehicles, and defensive structures, and research improvements. Multiplayer and skirmish-style play focus on building an economy quickly and defeating the opposing faction.
Plan your run
Secure nearby oil fields early and protect them with defensive structures. Expand only after the first base can support steady unit production.
Scout before committing the main force. Keep mixed armies together so fast vehicles, ranged units, and durable front-line units can support one another. Attack enemy resource sites when a direct assault on the main base is too costly.
Before you begin
Learn the strengths and weaknesses of all three factions before choosing a long campaign.
Use scouts to reveal resource locations and enemy defenses before attacking.
Keep construction and production queues active whenever resources allow.
KKnD 2: Krossfire is a science-fiction real-time strategy game developed by Beam Software and published by Infogrames for DOS in 1998. Set in a devastated future, it follows three factions competing for control of the remaining habitable land: the human Survivors, the mutated Evolved, and the machine-based Series 9. The game combines base construction, resource management, unit production, and tactical combat across campaign missions and multiplayer battles. Its asymmetric factions give each side different units, buildings, and battlefield priorities. Krossfire received attention for expanding the original KKnD with a third faction and a broader unit roster, although contemporary opinions also noted its demanding interface and sometimes uneven balance. It remains a distinctive late-1990s post-apocalyptic strategy title.
