Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The game uses a side-view basketball perspective with direct control of the active player. The objective is to outscore the opposing team by moving the ball, creating shots, defending passing lanes, and contesting attempts near the basket.
Players can select teams and play regular matchups or progress through an NBA-style playoff bracket. Success depends on choosing sensible passes, taking open shots, controlling rebounds, and adapting defensive coverage as the game develops.
Plan your run
Use quick passes to move the defense before attempting a shot. Forcing passes into crowded areas creates turnovers and gives the opponent easy transition opportunities.
On defense, stay between the ball handler and the basket, switch carefully when necessary, and prioritize rebounding after missed shots. Strong teams still benefit from disciplined possession management.
Before you begin
Favor open shots over heavily contested attempts.
Protect the ball when leading late in a game.
Use the playoff mode to learn team strengths and weaknesses.
Lakers versus Celtics and the NBA Playoffs is a basketball simulation developed and published by Electronic Arts for DOS. It recreates professional NBA basketball through team-based matches featuring the Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, and other leading franchises of the period. The game emphasizes passing, shooting, defensive positioning, and tactical control rather than arcade-only action. Players can compete in individual games or work through a playoff structure. Its presentation and licensed teams helped make it an important early computer sports title, although its controls and limited statistical depth feel dated today. Historically, it was well regarded for bringing recognizable NBA strategy and presentation to home computers.
