How it plays

How does Laser Squad play?

Each scenario is viewed from an overhead, tile-based perspective. The player controls a squad and must complete objectives such as eliminating enemies, rescuing personnel, recovering equipment, or escaping from the map.

Units spend action points to move, turn, fire, reload, change equipment, and interact with the environment. Ammunition, line of sight, cover, morale, and weapon characteristics all affect decisions. Missions are separate tactical problems rather than a continuous campaign, so success depends on careful positioning and resource management within each map.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Laser Squad?

Keep soldiers together enough to support one another, but use cover and different routes to reduce the danger of enemy fire. Check sight lines before exposing a unit and avoid spending every action point when a defensive position is more valuable.

Conserve ammunition and assign equipment according to the mission. Search the map methodically, protect specialists, and use grenades or heavier weapons when several enemies are concentrated or entrenched.
