How it plays
The game presents a compact overhead action-adventure view. Each stage follows a film-inspired objective, such as reaching a destination, defeating enemies, protecting allies, or solving environmental obstacles.
Players move through linear or branching areas, attack enemies, jump across hazards, collect LEGO studs, and activate switches. Different characters provide different abilities, so progress may require changing heroes or revisiting spaces with a more suitable character.
The campaign covers scenes from across the saga. Completing stages and collecting items supports replay, while the character-based design encourages returning to earlier areas.
Plan your run
Explore each area before advancing, especially when LEGO studs or side paths are visible. Use the character best suited to the obstacle instead of relying only on basic attacks.
During combat, keep moving and attack from a safe angle. Replay completed stages to collect missed items and learn which character abilities open previously inaccessible routes.

LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game is an action-adventure platform game developed by Griptonite Games for the Game Boy Advance and published by Eidos Interactive. It adapts stories and characters from the Star Wars prequel and original film trilogies in a compact handheld format. Players guide LEGO versions of familiar heroes through combat-focused stages, environmental puzzles, collectible hunts, and light platforming. The GBA edition uses a more compact, overhead-oriented presentation than the contemporary console versions, while retaining character abilities and humorous LEGO details. Reception was generally positive for its faithful Star Wars content and portable convenience, although critics noted that its simplified structure and technical limitations made it less expansive than the console releases.
