How it plays
The game uses a third-person golf view. Players choose a club, aim the shot, adjust power and spin, and complete a timing-based swing meter. Wind, terrain, hazards, lie, and the golfer's statistics all affect the result.
The main mode follows Neil or Ella through training, matches, and tournaments at two clubs. Players earn experience, improve attributes, acquire equipment, and unlock tougher opponents and courses. Additional modes support practice, versus play, and other short golf challenges.
Plan your run
Learn the swing meter before attempting difficult tournaments. Consistent timing is usually more valuable than maximum power, especially when wind or hazards make aggressive shots risky.
Improve the statistics that match your play style, but keep accuracy and control competitive. Read each lie carefully, use conservative club selection near hazards, and practice approaches to reduce the number of difficult putts.

Upgrade equipment and statistics gradually instead of specializing too early.
Mario Golf: Advance Tour is a golf and light role-playing game developed by Camelot Software Planning and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance. It follows young golfers Neil and Ella as they train at two golf clubs and work toward challenging the best players in the Mario world. The game combines a timing-based swing system with character statistics, equipment upgrades, tournaments, and story events. Its main campaign received favorable attention for bringing the depth of the console Mario Golf games to a handheld, while its link features and compatibility with Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour added appeal for players with access to both games. The result is a structured, progression-focused golf game rather than a simple collection of quick matches.
