How it plays

How does M.A.X.: Mechanized Assault & Exploration play?

The game uses a top-down, map-based perspective. Players explore a planet, claim territory, build settlements, mine resources, and construct factories, defenses, vehicles, aircraft, and other military units. Turns are divided into phases in which movement, combat, construction, research, and logistics must be coordinated.

Scenarios usually require eliminating opponents, capturing objectives, or developing a successful colony. Progression comes from expanding the economy, researching improved technologies, and assembling forces suited to the terrain and enemy defenses. Supply, production capacity, visibility, and unit positioning are important throughout each battle.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play M.A.X.: Mechanized Assault & Exploration?

Establish a reliable resource base before committing to a major offensive. Protect mines, factories, and transport routes, because losing industrial infrastructure can cripple later production.

Use reconnaissance to reveal terrain and enemy positions, then combine different unit types instead of relying on one expensive force. Keep reserves near important objectives and plan movement around fuel, ammunition, repairs, and defensive range.

  1. 1

Secure resource sites and protect them with layered defenses.
