Ikki Tenryou
The young Medafighter who guides Metabee and takes part in the game’s story.
How it plays
The game uses a side-view perspective. Each stage places Metabee in a compact combat area filled with enemy Medabots, hazards, and occasional platforming sections. The main objective is to defeat opponents while protecting Metabee’s head part.
Players move, jump, fire weapons, and use close-range attacks. Winning battles provides access to new parts and improves Metabee’s combat options. The Metabee Version emphasizes ranged weaponry and plays differently from the Rokusho Version, although both versions share the same general structure.
Plan your run
Keep moving instead of trading attacks in one position. Use the arena’s space to create distance from melee opponents and fire when their movement leaves them exposed.
Protect Metabee’s head part, since its destruction ends the battle. Change parts when available so the weapon setup matches the opponent, and learn enemy attack patterns before committing to close-range exchanges.

Medabots AX: Metabee Version is a side-scrolling action game developed by Natsume for the Game Boy Advance. It is based on the Medabots anime and follows Ikki and his Medabot, Metabee, through battles against rival Medabots and criminal opponents. The game combines platforming, arena combat, and light role-playing elements. Players attack with Metabee’s weapons, avoid enemy fire, and collect or equip parts that affect combat performance. Reception was mixed: the licensed presentation and energetic battles were appealing to fans, while the short campaign, repetitive encounters, and uneven difficulty limited its broader reputation.
