How it plays
Players guide Lan through towns, facilities, and computer networks from a top-down perspective. MegaMan.EXE explores cyberspace, talks to characters, solves environmental puzzles, and fights viruses in real time on a six-by-three battle grid.
At the start of each battle, the Custom Screen provides a limited selection of BattleChips. Chips supply attacks, recovery, support effects, and transformations, while the MegaBuster remains available between selections. Progression comes from story events, new chips, NaviCust programs, Style Changes, and optional areas. The game includes a main campaign, side quests, secret areas, and competitive or collectible challenges.
Plan your run
Build a focused folder instead of filling it with unrelated chips. Use chips that share codes so more selections can be combined during one Custom Screen cycle.
Learn enemy attack patterns and keep moving around the grid. Save strong chips for openings, use AreaGrab-style effects to control space, and upgrade MegaMan through the NaviCust without violating its placement rules. Explore optional networks after major story milestones for stronger chips and secret bosses.

Mega Man Battle Network 3: Blue Version is an action RPG developed and published by Capcom for the Game Boy Advance. It follows Lan Hikari and MegaMan.EXE as they investigate a new Net crisis involving the WWW organization and the mysterious Alpha program. Exploration takes place across the real world and cyberspace, while battles combine direct movement with a deck of selectable BattleChips. The Blue Version is one of two related releases of Mega Man Battle Network 3, with version-specific content and encounters. Critics and players generally praised its expanded combat system, large amount of optional content, and stronger customization, although the lengthy campaign and repeated random encounters can feel demanding.
