How it plays
The player controls Lan in the real world and MegaMan.EXE in cyberspace. Investigating events, solving environmental puzzles, and reaching new areas in the Cyberworld advance the story.
Battles take place on a six-by-three grid. MegaMan moves in real time, fires the MegaBuster, and selects Battle Chips from the Custom Screen. Chips provide attacks, recovery, support, and field effects; matching codes can be selected together.
Progression comes from collecting chips, improving the folder, increasing MegaMan's abilities, and unlocking forms tied to the game's transformation systems. The main campaign is supplemented by optional areas, battles, and challenges.
Plan your run
Build a folder with a clear damage plan instead of filling it with unrelated chips. Keep several copies of reliable chips, use codes that can be selected together, and reserve a few slots for recovery or defensive support.
Learn enemy attack patterns and keep MegaMan moving across the grid. Save powerful chips for openings, use AreaGrab-style effects carefully, and upgrade the MegaBuster when regular shots become inefficient.
Explore optional network paths and revisit earlier areas after gaining new abilities. These routes provide stronger chips, currency, and battles that help prepare for difficult story encounters.

Developed and published by Capcom, Mega Man Battle Network 6: Cybeast Gregar is an action role-playing game and the Gregar version of the sixth Battle Network entry. Players follow Lan Hikari and MegaMan.EXE after moving to Central Town, where a new network threat and the Cybeast Gregar endanger the Cyberworld. Exploration takes place through linked real-world and virtual areas, while battles mix grid movement, MegaBuster attacks, and a deck of Battle Chips. The game concludes the main Battle Network storyline and adds several refinements, including new transformation systems and expanded side content. It was generally well received for its combat depth and presentation, though its late release on Game Boy Advance was noted by reviewers.
