Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The game uses a first-person cockpit perspective and builds on Falcon 3.0’s flight and combat model. Missions involve takeoffs, navigation, air-to-air engagements, and attacks against designated targets while monitoring fuel, weapons, sensors, and aircraft status.
Progression is scenario-based rather than a conventional level sequence. The player selects or completes missions within the expansion’s campaign framework, with success depending on objectives, survival, and tactical decisions. The simulation supports single-player combat operations; no separate multiplayer mode is documented here.
Plan your run
Learn the aircraft systems and radar displays before attempting difficult missions. Avoid treating every contact as a target: identify friend or foe, manage fuel and missiles, and preserve energy during engagements.
Use mission objectives as the priority. Low-level attacks, defensive maneuvering, and disengagement are often safer than prolonged turning fights, especially when ammunition or fuel is limited.
Before you begin
Read the Falcon 3.0 documentation before flying the expansion.
Monitor fuel, weapons, radar contacts, and aircraft damage throughout each mission.
Use the training or easier scenarios to practice identification and missile employment.
MiG-29: Deadly Adversary of Falcon 3.0 is an add-on for Spectrum Holobyte’s Falcon 3.0, released for DOS in 1993. It is a combat flight simulator centered on air operations involving the Soviet MiG-29 Fulcrum and related opposing forces. Rather than functioning as a separate arcade game, it extends Falcon 3.0’s simulation framework with new aircraft, missions, and adversary scenarios. Players manage aircraft systems, engage enemy fighters, and operate within a broader tactical situation. The expansion was aimed at experienced Falcon players and was noted for increasing the range and challenge of the original simulation, although its complexity and dependence on Falcon 3.0 made it less accessible to newcomers.
