Kira Yamato
The protagonist of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and pilot of the Strike Gundam.
How it plays
Battles take place on a two-dimensional plane with mobile suits facing each other. The objective is to deplete the opponent’s life gauge before the time limit expires. Players move, jump, guard, attack, fire weapons, and use character-specific techniques.
The main progression is a character-based arcade-style route with successive matches. Winning advances the route, while losing ends the attempt. Stages and opponents vary according to the selected pilot, and the game’s focus is on learning attack range, timing, recovery, and each suit’s special moves.
Plan your run
Stay at a range where your suit’s fastest attacks can connect without leaving you exposed. Use movement and guarding to avoid repeatedly trading hits, then punish attacks that miss or finish with a long recovery.
Learn the differences between melee attacks, projectiles, and special techniques before relying on them. Save powerful options for clear openings, watch the time limit, and adapt your spacing to the opponent’s weapon range.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED: Battle Assault is a Game Boy Advance fighting game developed by Natsume and published by Bandai. It adapts the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED television series into side-view battles between mobile suits and their pilots. Players choose a character, fight through a sequence of opponents, and use normal attacks, special techniques, ranged weapons, and mobile-suit movement to win each match. The game emphasizes quick one-on-one combat rather than a long role-playing campaign. Its roster, anime presentation, and accessible controls made it a recognizable handheld Gundam release, although its compact content and relatively simple fighting system received a more mixed reception than larger console entries.
