How it plays
The game uses a top-down perspective for exploration and a turn-based battle view for encounters. The main objective is to earn eight Gym Badges, travel through Kanto, and challenge the Pokémon League.
Players explore routes, caves, forests, and buildings; capture wild Pokémon; choose moves during battles; manage health and status conditions; and develop a team through experience. Optional activities include collecting Pokémon, completing the Pokédex, trading, battling, and exploring the Sevii Islands after reaching the later game.
Plan your run
Build a balanced team with different types rather than relying on one Pokémon. Keep several Pokémon near the same level, and carry healing items for long routes and caves.
Study Gym Leader weaknesses before choosing a lead Pokémon. Save before major battles, important gifts, and one-time legendary encounters. Use status moves and type advantages to reduce difficult fights, and return to earlier areas when a team member needs experience.

Pokémon FireRed is a role-playing adventure developed by Game Freak for the Game Boy Advance. It remakes the original Pokémon Red version, preserving the journey through the Kanto region while adding updated graphics, interface improvements, expanded gameplay systems, and connectivity features. Players assume the role of a young Pokémon Trainer who travels between towns, captures wild Pokémon, defeats Gym Leaders, and confronts Team Rocket. The game uses turn-based battles built around type advantages, moves, abilities, and team building. FireRed received strong historical praise for modernizing a classic without losing its structure, and it became one of the best-known Pokémon releases on the Game Boy Advance.
