The game uses a third-person, point-and-click perspective. Players explore locations, talk with characters, collect and combine objects, and select verbs to perform actions such as looking, pushing, opening, and picking up.

Progression is divided into story chapters. Puzzles usually require inspecting the environment, interpreting dialogue clues, and using inventory items in unexpected ways. The game also includes comic insult swordfights, where learning opponents’ responses is more important than reflexes.

Talk to everyone and exhaust dialogue options before leaving an area. Important clues are often hidden in jokes or apparently unhelpful conversations.

Keep unusual objects rather than discarding them, and try them on several environmental targets. For insult swordfights, record the insults and matching replies; the correct response is learned through repeated encounters.

If a puzzle seems impossible, revisit earlier locations and reconsider the wording of conversations. The game rewards experimentation more than rapid input.
