How it plays

How does Monopoly DS play?

Players move around the Monopoly board by rolling dice, then buy unowned properties, pay rent, draw Chance or Community Chest cards, and manage cash. The objective is to leave all opponents bankrupt while avoiding financial collapse yourself.

Games follow the traditional circuit of property spaces and auction or trading decisions. Players can develop complete color groups with houses and hotels, negotiate exchanges, mortgage properties, and use special spaces such as Jail, Free Parking, and tax squares. Modes and rule options may vary by match setup, with computer opponents providing different levels of challenge.

What is the best way to play Monopoly DS?

Prioritize completing color groups rather than collecting isolated properties. Keep enough cash available for rent and taxes, and consider mortgages before selling developed buildings.

Use trades to create monopolies, but avoid giving an opponent a completed high-rent group. Properties visited frequently can be more valuable than their purchase price suggests, while expensive late-game development can leave you vulnerable to one unlucky roll.

Before you begin

What should you know before playing?

  1. 1

Track opponents' cash before proposing a trade.

  2. 2

Develop complete color groups evenly when possible.

  3. 3

Keep a reserve for unexpected rent payments.
