How it plays

How does Moonmist play?

The game uses a first-person, text-parser perspective. Type commands to examine locations, manipulate objects, travel through the castle, question people, and respond to events. The main objective is to identify what is behind the haunting and resolve the surrounding mystery.

Moonmist is divided into selectable mystery scenarios with different clues and solutions. Progress depends on exploring methodically, recording evidence, interpreting replies, and completing actions before important events occur. The parser accepts short verb-and-noun commands, along with standard commands for inventory, movement, and saving.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Moonmist?

Map the castle and note where every object and person is found. Examine suspicious items closely, ask about specific subjects, and save before experimenting with important evidence.

Read descriptions carefully: apparently decorative details can provide clues. If a scenario seems stuck, revisit earlier rooms and try interacting with objects mentioned in conversation rather than relying only on obvious commands.
