Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
Races are viewed from behind the car or through other driving viewpoints. The objective is to complete each event ahead of the field while managing speed, drafting, tire condition, fuel, damage, and pit stops.
Players select a NASCAR event and configure the car before qualifying or racing. Oval tracks require careful line choice, throttle control, and traffic management; longer events add pit strategy and changing car performance. Progression is based on results across races rather than character levels or equipment unlocks.
Plan your run
Learn each track’s preferred racing line before attempting full-length events. Use drafting on straights, but leave room for traffic and avoid entering corners with excessive speed.
For long races, adjust fuel and tire strategy before the start and monitor damage after contact. Test setup changes in practice instead of changing several variables at once.
NASCAR Racing 2 is a licensed stock-car racing simulation developed by Papyrus Design Group and published by Sierra On-Line for DOS in 1996. It models NASCAR competition through detailed oval tracks, configurable car setups, race procedures, and a large field of computer-controlled drivers. The game is designed primarily for players who want a serious simulation rather than an arcade-style racer, with braking, drafting, tire wear, fuel use, damage, and pit decisions affecting results. Its single-player events can be approached as individual races or as longer championship-oriented competition, while multiplayer options support head-to-head racing on compatible systems. The sequel was generally well regarded for its depth, driving model, and presentation, although its complexity and demanding setup work could be less approachable for casual players.
