How it plays
How does Need for Speed: ProStreet play?
The game uses a third-person chase view for circuit, sprint, drag, and other event types. Players steer through courses, manage speed, and use nitrous at suitable moments while competing against computer-controlled rivals.
Progression centers on event days and career advancement. Winnings can be used to obtain or improve cars, while performance upgrades and vehicle setup help meet tougher event requirements. The DS release also includes quick race-style options alongside its main career structure.
Plan your run
What is the best way to play Need for Speed: ProStreet?
Prioritize acceleration and handling upgrades before spending heavily on top-speed parts. Learn each course’s braking points, and save nitrous for exits from corners or long straightaways rather than activating it immediately.
Use a car suited to the event type. In drag races, concentrate on clean launches and timely shifts; in circuit events, consistency and avoiding wall contact are usually more valuable than aggressive shortcuts.
Before you begin
What should you know before playing?
- 1
Upgrade the car’s weakest performance area first.
- 2
Avoid collisions because lost speed is difficult to recover on short DS tracks.
- 3
Use practice or quick events to learn a course before entering important career events.
