How it plays
The game uses a side-view perspective. Mario runs and jumps through eight main worlds, avoids enemies and hazards, collects coins and Star Coins, and reaches the goal at the end of each stage.
Power-ups include Super Mushrooms, Fire Flowers, Starman, Mini Mushrooms, and Mega Mushrooms. World maps contain standard stages, fortresses, towers, castles, bonus areas, and secret paths. Two players can also compete in dedicated wireless minigames.
Plan your run
Learn the timing of running jumps rather than rushing every obstacle. Collecting all three Star Coins in a stage can reveal alternate progression and improves completion.
Keep a useful power-up before entering fortresses and castles. Mini Mario is especially important for certain secret routes, while the Mega Mushroom is best saved for large groups of enemies or breakable terrain.
