Players control three protagonists and use them to approach situations from different perspectives. Progression is organized around connected scenes and puzzle sequences rather than combat, with failure usually resulting from using an item or action at the wrong time.

Examine every object and speak with every available character before leaving an area. Keep track of items that appear useless, because adventure-game puzzles may require them much later.

Try actions with all three protagonists when a solution is unclear. Save before major interactions, and revisit earlier locations after obtaining new objects or information.
