Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The game uses a side-scrolling view as the spacecraft advances through a sequence of combat zones. The main objective is to survive each stage, destroy hostile targets, and defeat the end-of-level boss.
Players steer around incoming fire, collect or use weapon upgrades, and manage the screen position of the ship while attacking. Progression is stage-based, with later areas introducing denser enemy patterns and more dangerous obstacles.
Plan your run
Keep the ship moving, but avoid making large predictable loops that can lead into enemy fire. Prioritize targets that shoot directly at the spacecraft and learn the timing of each boss's attack pattern.
Conserve stronger weapons for crowded sections and bosses when possible. Staying near a safe part of the screen can make it easier to react to enemies entering from the sides.
Before you begin
Learn enemy entry patterns before attempting to clear every target.
Use the full screen width to create space when projectile patterns become dense.
OverKill is a science-fiction shoot 'em up released for DOS in 1992 by Epic MegaGames. The game places the player in a heavily armed spacecraft and sends it through horizontally scrolling combat stages filled with enemy ships, ground targets, hazards, and large bosses. Its play style emphasizes constant movement, rapid firing, and weapon management rather than exploration or story scenes. OverKill was part of Epic's early shareware-era catalogue and was recognized by DOS players for its colorful presentation, fast action, and demanding difficulty. Although it did not establish a major long-running series, it remains a notable example of early-1990s PC arcade shooting.
