How it plays

How does Overlord play?

The game is played from a first-person cockpit perspective. Missions assign objectives such as attacking ground targets, intercepting hostile aircraft, escorting friendly units, or reaching a designated area safely.

Players must control altitude, speed, heading, and weapons while monitoring the cockpit instruments and surrounding airspace. Progression is mission-based rather than character-based; successful sorties advance the campaign, while poor performance can reduce effectiveness or end the scenario.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Overlord?

Learn the cockpit instruments before attempting difficult missions, and avoid treating every contact as an immediate target. Use altitude and speed deliberately: they affect visibility, approach options, and the ability to disengage.

Prioritize the assigned objective, conserve ammunition, and break away from combat when the mission allows it. Familiarity with terrain and approach routes is often more valuable than aggressive maneuvering.
