Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The game uses a top-down view of self-contained stages. Guide the ball through passages, interact with objects, and expose pairs of matching Oxyd stones; opening an incorrect pair can reset or complicate the puzzle.
Progress depends on solving the current level rather than building a character. Walls, water, slopes, doors, switches, and other hazards alter movement, so careful positioning and repeated attempts are often required.
Plan your run
Study the entire stage before moving quickly. Identify matching stones, hazards, and possible routes first.
Use short, controlled movements near walls and obstacles. If a puzzle appears unsolvable, restart and try changing the order in which stones or switches are activated.
Before you begin
Survey a level before committing to a route.
Treat momentum and rebounds as part of the puzzle.
Remember the layout of failed attempts; many solutions depend on order.
Oxyd Magnum! is a DOS puzzle-action game developed and published by Dongleware. It places the player in control of a bouncing ball moving through compact, maze-like stages filled with walls, hazards, switches, and Oxyd stones. The central task is to reveal matching stones in the correct way while avoiding traps and managing the ball’s momentum. Its play style combines observation, timing, and light physics-based maneuvering rather than conventional combat. The game belongs to the Oxyd series and is closely associated with the early-1990s German computer-game scene. It received attention for its unusual puzzle design and demanding trial-and-error structure, although its difficulty and sometimes unforgiving movement can make progress slow for new players.
