Unnamed protagonist
The player-controlled trainer who explores the Ilios Region and builds a Pokémon team.
How it plays
The game uses a top-down overworld where players travel between towns, routes, caves, and wild areas to advance the story. Battles follow the traditional turn-based Pokémon system with type matchups, status effects, move selection, and party management. Progress is driven by exploration, trainer fights, item collection, evolution, and key story events, with the usual loop of preparing a team and overcoming stronger opponents.
Plan your run
Build a balanced team early and make sure you have coverage for common types such as Water, Fire, Electric, Grass, and Ground. Talk to NPCs and inspect optional paths, since fan hacks often hide useful items or hints off the main road. Save before major battles and keep healing items and status cures ready for longer dungeons or boss fights.
Meet the cast
The player-controlled trainer who explores the Ilios Region and builds a Pokémon team.
New characters created for the hack who support the story and provide opposition along the journey.
Pokémon Lazarus is a fan-made Emerald hack set in the Ilios Region, inspired by Greece and built for players who enjoy classic handheld Pokémon adventures. It keeps the familiar turn-based RPG structure while adding a new region, original characters, and more than 400 Pokémon to catch and train. The game aims to preserve the nostalgic GBA feel while offering fresh exploration and team-building challenges.
