How it plays
The player explores randomly generated dungeons from a top-down perspective. Every movement, attack, item use, and enemy action advances the turn-based dungeon simulation.
The main story follows missions, rescues, investigations, and battles while the player recruits Pokémon, learns moves, collects items, and manages hunger, health, and inventory. Story dungeons generally have a fixed objective but variable layouts.
Additional episodes, side missions, treasure hunts, and post-game areas expand progression after the primary narrative. Team rank, move development, equipment, and recruited Pokémon provide long-term goals.
Plan your run
Prepare before entering long dungeons: carry several recovery items, status cures, throwable items, and at least one escape option.
Use moves economically and position allies carefully. Recruit Pokémon with complementary types, abilities, and ranged attacks, and check the dungeon’s weather and environmental hazards.
Store rare items and money in the guild or town before risky missions. In the post-game, strengthen moves and recruit specialized Pokémon rather than relying only on the main pair.

Before you begin
Recruitment depends on the leader’s position, the defeated Pokémon, and dungeon conditions; not every enemy can join immediately.
Linking moves can improve damage and turn efficiency, but linked moves consume more PP together.
Save useful TMs, seeds, and held items for difficult story and post-game missions.
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky is a story-driven dungeon-crawling role-playing game developed by Chunsoft for Nintendo DS. It expands Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness with additional story episodes, characters, locations, and gameplay features. The player becomes a Pokémon after a mysterious transformation and joins a partner on an investigation into disturbances affecting the world. Exploration takes place in randomly generated dungeons with turn-based movement and combat. The game was widely praised for its emotional narrative, character writing, soundtrack, and substantial content, and is often regarded as one of the strongest entries in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series.
