How it plays

How does Police Quest: SWAT 2 play?

Missions are viewed from an overhead tactical perspective. The player selects officers, assigns equipment, gives movement and engagement orders, and responds to changing incidents. SWAT missions commonly involve rescuing hostages, securing buildings, arresting suspects, and collecting evidence; criminal missions focus on planning and executing attacks.

Campaigns are divided into scenarios with different maps, objectives, and personnel. Officers can use weapons, less-lethal tools, breaching equipment, and tactical commands. Mission results depend on completing objectives while limiting casualties, avoiding unnecessary force, and following operational requirements.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Police Quest: SWAT 2?

Plan before moving into a room. Use the map and team positioning to cover entrances, isolate threats, and avoid exposing officers to several enemies at once.

Use less-lethal options and arrest opportunities whenever the mission permits them. Check objectives after major events, preserve evidence, and keep wounded or exhausted personnel out of later operations when the campaign allows it.

Before you begin

What should you know before playing?

  1. 1

Reconnoiter rooms and doorways before committing the whole team.

  2. 2

Separate teams for simultaneous approaches, but keep them within supporting distance.

  3. 3

Read mission briefings carefully; success is often judged by procedure as well as by completion.
