Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The game presents a televised quiz competition from a first-person contestant perspective. Players answer questions to receive spins, then move a selector around the prize board during each spin.
Spins can award money, prizes, additional spins, or penalties. Players may pass remaining spins to another contestant, and the player with the highest score advances through the show’s rounds. The main progression is therefore based on question performance, accumulated spins, and decisions about when to press an advantage or stop risking a lead.
Plan your run
Answering questions consistently is more important than chasing the most attractive individual board result. Build a reliable spin total before taking large risks.
Before you begin
Use spins deliberately rather than treating every board result as equally valuable.
When several contestants are close, preserving a lead can be safer than pursuing a larger prize.
The game is best suited to local group play, since its appeal depends on turn-based competition.
Press Your Luck is a DOS adaptation of the American television game show, published by GameTek in 1992. It combines quiz-show knowledge with risk management and a rapidly changing game board. Contestants answer questions to earn spins, then use those spins to pursue cash and prizes while trying to avoid the hostile Whammy. The game is designed for multiple contestants sharing a computer, with the presentation recreating the television format rather than offering an action-oriented arcade experience. Its appeal comes from the tension between safe decisions and ambitious wagers. Reception was shaped mainly by its value as a licensed home version: it offers recognizable show rules and a social party-game structure, but its DOS presentation and limited simulation make it less substantial than a full standalone strategy game.
