Rayman
The protagonist, who uses acrobatic movement, hovering, ranged attacks, and power-ups to stop the Hoodlums.
How it plays
The game presents a primarily side-scrolling view across linear stages in the Glade of Dreams. Rayman explores each area, defeats Hoodlum enemies, collects items, and searches for routes through hazards and environmental puzzles.
Progression is based on completing stages and gaining access to new areas and abilities. Temporary costumes and power-ups change Rayman's offensive capabilities, while vehicle sequences provide short changes of pace. Exploration also includes optional collectibles and hidden sections.
Plan your run
Learn the timing of Rayman's jump, hover, and ranged attack before attempting hazardous sections. Clear enemies from a safe distance when possible, and conserve temporary power-ups for encounters or obstacles that require them.
Search the edges of stages for collectibles and alternate routes, but prioritize safe landings. In vehicle sections, focus on avoiding damage and learning the route rather than rushing forward.

Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge is a 2005 action-platform game developed by Saffire and published by Ubisoft for the Game Boy Advance. It continues the Rayman 3 storyline, sending Rayman into the Glade of Dreams after the Hoodlums revive the villainous André. The game combines side-scrolling exploration, environmental puzzles, combat, and light vehicle sections. Rayman relies on his jumping, hovering, ranged attacks, and temporary power-ups to overcome enemies and obstacles. Its colorful presentation and varied abilities were generally viewed as a solid handheld adaptation, although reviewers noted that the compact level design and simplified mechanics did not match the scope of the console games.
