Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The game uses a top-down perspective. The player explores a city, steals vehicles, fights enemies, evades the police, and completes missions built around movement, driving, combat, and comedic set pieces.
Story missions provide the main progression, while side activities and collectible-oriented diversions expand the play area. Different vehicles and weapons change how encounters are approached, but the overall structure remains arcade-like rather than simulation-focused.
Plan your run
Learn the city layout before attempting difficult missions. Vehicles are useful for fast travel and can provide cover or a way to escape police attention, but they are not always practical in confined areas.
Approach combat with the environment in mind, switch weapons when a situation changes, and use optional activities to become familiar with movement and mission mechanics before advancing the main story.
Before you begin
Use vehicles to move quickly between objectives, but remember that narrow spaces favor on-foot movement.
Explore away from the main objectives to find optional activities and references.
Treat police pursuits as a route-planning challenge rather than relying only on direct combat.
Retro City Rampage 486 is a DOS version of Vblank Entertainment Inc.'s satirical action-adventure game. It presents a deliberately low-resolution, open-world parody of classic crime games, combining vehicle theft, gunplay, platforming, and exaggerated video-game humor. The player controls a criminal protagonist causing chaos in a fictional city while completing story missions and optional activities. Its compact presentation, arcade-style pace, and extensive references to older games earned the project attention among retro enthusiasts. The 486 edition is especially notable for adapting the concept to DOS-era hardware rather than reproducing the presentation of a modern console release.
