Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The player views the campaign from an overhead perspective and guides a convoy between locations on a large European map. Travel consumes resources and exposes the group to hazards, enemy attacks, and opportunities to obtain supplies or improve the convoy.
Encounters shift the focus toward direct combat. The player maneuvers vehicles, uses mounted weapons, protects important members of the convoy, and decides when to continue or avoid a fight. Progress depends on route selection, resource management, and preserving enough vehicles and ammunition to complete the campaign.
Plan your run
Plan routes around fuel and ammunition rather than choosing the shortest path automatically. A convoy that reaches a destination with no supplies may be in worse condition than one that takes a longer route through a safer or better-stocked area.
Avoid unnecessary battles early in a campaign. Preserve vehicles and weapons, use terrain and maneuvering during encounters, and treat every replacement or resupply opportunity as important because losses can reduce later options.
Before you begin
Conserve fuel and ammunition before entering unfamiliar areas.
Do not treat every encounter as mandatory; preserving the convoy is often more valuable than winning a costly fight.
Roadwar Europa is a post-apocalyptic strategy and action game developed and published by Strategic Simulations, Inc. for DOS. It places the player in command of a mobile convoy traveling through a devastated Europe, where fuel, supplies, vehicles, and firepower determine how long the group can survive. The game combines an overhead strategic journey with direct encounters against hostile forces. Players choose routes, manage the convoy, and fight for resources while attempting to reach objectives across a hostile continent. Its hybrid design reflects SSI’s interest in computer wargames, and it received attention for blending strategic planning with arcade-style combat, although its interface and difficulty can feel demanding by modern standards.
