Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The game uses a side-view exploration perspective with screen-by-screen rooms. The objective is to escape the underground city by solving environmental puzzles and reaching new areas.
Players inspect machinery, connect circuit components, manipulate switches, and configure robots to perform tasks. Progress depends on experimentation: a correct circuit or behavior pattern opens routes, activates devices, or solves a room-wide puzzle. The structure becomes more complex as new electronic ideas and hazards are introduced.
Plan your run
Observe each room before changing anything, and identify which device supplies power, receives a signal, or controls movement.
Before you begin
Treat every puzzle as a circuit-design problem and keep notes of working connections.
Robot Odyssey is an educational puzzle-adventure game developed and published by The Learning Company. The player controls a small robot exploring a dangerous underground city after becoming trapped there. Its central challenge is not direct combat, but understanding circuits, sensors, logic gates, and programmable robot behavior. Players experiment with electronic components and build solutions while navigating increasingly complex rooms. The game was notable for treating computer engineering as a hands-on puzzle system rather than a lesson screen. It earned a strong historical reputation for its originality, depth, and unusually demanding logic challenges, although its difficulty and limited interface can feel intimidating today.
