Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The game uses a golf-course perspective in which players plan and execute shots hole by hole. The objective is to win matches by taking more holes than the opposing golfer or team, following Ryder Cup-style match play rather than simply comparing total strokes.
Players select clubs, judge distance and conditions, and control the direction and power of each shot. Progression is organized around competition rounds and team representation, with success depending on careful positioning, putting, and avoiding costly mistakes.
Plan your run
Choose a club that leaves a manageable approach rather than always seeking maximum distance. A safe shot in the fairway is often more valuable than an aggressive attempt from a difficult lie.
Treat putting and short-game shots as decisive parts of match play. Because a single hole can change the result, prioritize consistency, avoid unnecessary hazards, and adapt your risk level to the current match situation.
Before you begin
Use conservative club selection when hazards or narrow landing areas are in play.
In match play, focus on winning holes rather than chasing a low overall score.
Ryder Cup: Johnnie Walker is a golf simulation based on the prestigious Ryder Cup team competition. Released for DOS in 1993 and published by Ocean Software, it presents tournament golf through a computer-focused interface rather than an arcade-style presentation. Players compete in match-play events representing Europe or the United States, choosing clubs and managing each shot across a course. Its appeal comes from recreating the structure and tension of team golf, with individual holes carrying significant strategic weight. Reception was modest, with the game generally remembered as a licensed sports title of its era rather than a landmark golf simulation.
