How it plays

How does Scribblenauts play?

Each stage presents a Starite objective, usually requiring Maxwell to reach or obtain one or more Starites. The player writes an object's name on the touch screen, selects a result, and places it into the level.

Maxwell can walk, jump, ride, carry, throw, and use summoned objects. Objects may interact through simple physics and game rules, allowing multiple solutions. Levels are divided into puzzle stages and challenge stages, with completion rewards used to unlock additional content and locations.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Scribblenauts?

Start with simple, broadly useful objects such as a ladder, rope, wings, or a vehicle, but avoid assuming that the obvious solution is required. Observe hazards before summoning anything, since some objects can create new obstacles.

Use adjectives to refine results when the game supports them. If an object behaves poorly, delete it and try a different category of solution rather than repeatedly forcing the same interaction.
