How it plays

How does Seven Kingdoms play?

The game uses a top-down, mouse-driven perspective. Players gather resources, construct buildings, recruit units, establish towns, and control armies in real time. Victory generally comes through defeating opponents, conquering territory, or meeting the requirements of the selected scenario or game mode.

A campaign and standalone scenarios provide structured objectives, while custom games support different kingdom choices and map conditions. Population loyalty, nationality, reputation, spies, diplomacy, trade, technology, and military strength all affect progression. Independent villages can be conquered, persuaded, or incorporated, and captured enemy units may provide valuable knowledge or labor.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Seven Kingdoms?

Protect food and gold income before expanding aggressively. A larger army can destabilize the economy if wages and supplies are not supported.

Use spies to inspect rival armies and towns, and improve reputation when diplomacy is more efficient than an immediate attack. Consider the nationality of villagers and soldiers, because loyalty affects productivity and resistance.

Secure independent villages near borders, maintain garrisons in vulnerable towns, and research or acquire technologies that complement the composition of your army.
