How it plays
The main stages use a side-view perspective and focus on running, jumping, homing attacks, grinding, loops, and collecting Rings. Sonic and Blaze follow different routes and use distinct abilities, while bottom-screen touch controls support certain vehicles and navigation tasks.
The adventure is organized around a central island and a series of destinations reached by boat. Completing stages and story events unlocks new islands, missions, vehicles, and boss encounters. Special stages use a behind-the-character 3D view and require the player to steer through courses while collecting Rings and avoiding hazards.
Plan your run
Learn to preserve momentum rather than stopping at every obstacle. Use homing attacks to cross enemy groups and gaps, and explore alternate routes for Rings, item boxes, and extra lives.
Upgrade and use the boat-based vehicles as soon as they become available. In special stages, prioritize a safe line through obstacles and collect Rings consistently; missing too many Rings can end the run quickly. Blaze’s abilities make some routes and hazards easier, so use her when the game permits character selection.

Sonic Rush Adventure is a side-scrolling platform adventure developed by Dimps and published by Sega for Nintendo DS. Sonic is stranded in an oceanic world after a storm and must help Marine the Raccoon protect her homeland while finding a way back home. The game combines fast 2D stages with touch-screen sailing and several vehicle-based activities. Blaze the Cat also returns as a playable character in parts of the adventure. Its colorful presentation, energetic level design, and inventive use of the DS hardware were generally well received, although some reviewers found the sailing sections less compelling than the main platforming.
