How it plays

How does Spider-Man: Edge of Time play?

The game uses a two-dimensional side-scrolling perspective. Players guide Spider-Man through linear stages, moving across platforms, climbing around hazards, fighting enemies, and collecting or reaching objectives.

The campaign alternates between the present-day Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099. Actions in one era can affect events in the other, creating timing and cause-and-effect puzzles. Progression comes from completing stages, defeating enemies, and advancing the story rather than from open-world exploration.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Spider-Man: Edge of Time?

Learn the rhythm of each character's movement before rushing through a stage. Use attacks to control enemy positioning, then move past hazards when the route is safe.

Pay attention to events in both eras. When a change in one timeline alters the other, look for the newly opened route or changed obstacle rather than repeatedly attacking the same area.

Save health for sections with multiple enemies and avoid unnecessary damage from environmental hazards.
