How it plays
The game uses a two-dimensional side-scrolling perspective. Spider-Man travels through themed stages, defeats common enemies, avoids hazards, collects items, and reaches a boss encounter at the end of selected levels.
Players can run, jump, punch, kick, and use web attacks while navigating platforms and environmental obstacles. Progression is primarily stage-based: completing a level unlocks the next part of the story, with boss victories advancing the investigation into Mysterio's plot.
Plan your run
Learn the timing of Spider-Man's jump and attack animations before rushing into groups of enemies. Use web attacks to create distance or control troublesome opponents, then rely on close attacks when the area is safe.
Study each boss's movement pattern instead of attacking continuously. Keep room to retreat, attack after the boss finishes an animation, and prioritize avoiding damage over collecting every item.

Before you begin
Use the side-scrolling layout to control enemy spacing rather than fighting several opponents at once.
Look around platforms and side areas for useful items before entering a boss room.
Against bosses, wait for a clear opening and avoid standing directly in front of an incoming charge or projectile.
Spider-Man: Mysterio's Menace is a side-scrolling action platformer developed by Vicarious Visions and published by Activision for the Game Boy Advance. It follows Peter Parker as Spider-Man while he investigates a series of unusual crimes connected to the villain Mysterio. The game combines platforming, hand-to-hand combat, web-based attacks, exploration, and boss encounters across compact stages. Spider-Man can move through environments with his agility and web abilities while confronting familiar enemies from Marvel comics. Contemporary reception generally regarded it as a capable and attractive portable Spider-Man game, although its short length and relatively straightforward design limited its depth compared with larger console adventures.
