Spider-Man
The playable hero, using agility, web-slinging, melee attacks, and symbiote powers to stop the invasion.
How it plays
The game uses a side-scrolling perspective. Spider-Man moves through urban stages, crosses platforms, fights ordinary enemies and symbiote creatures, and reaches a boss or stage objective at the end of each area.
Combat centers on jumping, web attacks, melee strikes, and special symbiote abilities. Progression comes primarily from clearing stages and advancing the story rather than from a large open-world system.
Plan your run
Use vertical space whenever possible: jump over groups, attack from safer angles, and avoid remaining in the center of crowded encounters.
Save stronger symbiote abilities for tougher enemies and bosses. Learn enemy attack patterns before committing to close-range combos, especially when several enemies appear together.
Meet the cast

Before you begin
Keep moving during crowded fights instead of trading damage.
Use web-based attacks to control enemies before approaching them.
Look for safe positions near platforms when preparing for boss encounters.
Spider-Man: Web of Shadows for Nintendo DS is a side-scrolling action game developed by Griptonite Games and published by Activision. It presents an original handheld interpretation of the Web of Shadows premise, in which Spider-Man battles a spreading symbiote threat across New York City. The game combines platforming, close-range combat, web-based movement, and encounters with recognizable Marvel characters. Players can use Spider-Man’s normal abilities and symbiote-powered attacks while progressing through a sequence of action stages. Its compact, arcade-like structure suits short handheld sessions. Reception was mixed, with the DS version generally regarded as a simpler and more limited adaptation than the console releases.
