How it plays

How does Splat! play?

Splat! uses a side-view arcade-platform format. The player guides the on-screen character through discrete hazardous areas, negotiating platforms and obstacles while attempting to survive and progress. Movement, timing, and positioning are more important than exploration or inventory management.

Progression is structured around completing successive screens or stages. Mistakes cost the player a life or attempt, and later sections generally demand more precise movement. The DOS version's exact control mapping and level count are not reliably documented here.

What is the best way to play Splat!?

Treat each screen as a timing puzzle rather than rushing forward. Watch enemy or obstacle patterns, identify safe landing points, and move only when the route is clear.

Because reliable documentation for the DOS version is limited, avoid relying on platform-specific tricks or unverified passwords. Preserve lives by learning one section at a time and restarting cautiously after a failed attempt.
