How it plays
Players guide Spyro through interconnected regions viewed from an overhead perspective. The main objectives are to explore, defeat Rhynocs, collect gems, locate items, and solve requests given by inhabitants.
Spyro can breathe fire, charge enemies, jump across gaps, and use abilities or equipment obtained during the adventure. Progress is driven by completing quests and opening access to new sections rather than by a simple linear stage sequence.
Plan your run
Explore each area carefully before moving on. Gems are useful for purchases and progression, so search side paths and revisit places after gaining new abilities.
Use fire against vulnerable enemies and charging attacks against targets that resist flames. Before entering a new section, restore health and complete nearby character requests so that backtracking is reduced.

Spyro: Attack of the Rhynocs is an action-adventure platform game developed by Digital Eclipse for the Game Boy Advance and published by Universal Interactive. It follows Spyro as he investigates a new threat from the Rhynocs, who are disrupting the Dragon Worlds and causing trouble for his friends. The game uses a compact overhead and isometric-style presentation rather than the fully 3D design of the main console games. Players explore connected areas, defeat enemies with fire and charges, collect gems, and complete objectives for familiar characters. Its larger world and quest structure were generally viewed as a strong fit for the handheld, although its simplified presentation and repetitive combat received more mixed responses.
