How it plays
Missions alternate between a tactical map and real-time space combat. On the map, the player plots a route for the selected craft, manages limited movement, and chooses which enemies or targets to engage.
During combat, the stylus moves the ship around the arena while the player attacks enemies, collects items, and avoids hazards. Story progress follows branching routes, and different mission choices can lead to different conclusions. Local wireless modes provide additional competitive play.
Plan your run
Use the tactical map to intercept enemies efficiently rather than spending movement on unnecessary detours. Check the destination and enemy positions before committing to a route.
In combat, keep moving in broad arcs, use the stylus to manage positioning, and prioritize enemies that can quickly damage the objective. Replay earlier branches to learn alternate routes and unlock different campaign conclusions.

Star Fox Command is a science-fiction action game developed by Q-Games and published by Nintendo for Nintendo DS. It combines free-flight shooting with a tactical map system, asking players to guide the Star Fox team through branching missions against the invading Anglar forces. The game is played primarily with the stylus, which controls movement and helps plot flight paths, while the buttons support firing and other combat functions. Its campaign is notable for multiple routes and endings rather than one fixed storyline. The game also includes competitive multiplayer for local wireless play. Reviews generally praised its inventive touch controls, branching structure, and strong audiovisual presentation, although opinions were divided about the simplified flight model and the amount of stylus use.
