James T. Kirk
Captain of the USS Enterprise and the player character, responsible for commanding the crew and making mission decisions.
How it plays
The game is presented mainly from a first-person viewpoint during exploration and conversation scenes. Players investigate planets, ships, and facilities, collect or examine objects, question characters, and choose dialogue or command responses.
Missions are divided into episodes with different objectives, such as solving a crisis, negotiating with a species, or stopping a threat. Kirk can consult the Enterprise crew and use the ship’s systems between away missions. Progress depends on interpreting clues and making decisions; some situations allow failure or lethal consequences rather than a simple combat-focused solution.
Plan your run
Examine every object and speak with every available character before committing to a solution.
Use the crew member whose specialty matches the problem; scientific, medical, engineering, and communications advice can reveal different options.
Save before major conversations and away-team decisions. Several episodes contain consequences that are not immediately obvious.
Treat dialogue as part of the puzzle: record important names, requests, and contradictions rather than repeatedly guessing actions.

Explore optional dialogue because it often supplies context needed for later decisions.
Star Trek: 25th Anniversary is a science-fiction graphic adventure developed and published by Interplay Productions for DOS in 1992. It places the player in command of Captain James T. Kirk and the USS Enterprise during a set of original missions written in the style of the classic television series. The game combines point-and-click exploration, dialogue choices, investigation, diplomacy, and occasional tactical encounters. The bridge crew provides specialized assistance, while success often depends on using the right officer or piece of equipment at the right time. It was generally well received for its atmosphere, writing, voice performances, and faithful presentation of Star Trek, although some puzzles and interface conventions can be demanding.
