How it plays

How does Starquake play?

The game uses a side-view perspective across a connected network of rooms on Byblos. BLOB must explore the planet, collect useful objects, activate machinery, and reach areas that are blocked at the start.

BLOB can move, jump, manipulate or carry objects, and use equipment found during exploration. Some objects open routes or solve environmental problems, while hazards and the planet’s instability limit careless movement. Progress is based on exploration and puzzle solving rather than separate linear stages.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Starquake?

Map the room connections and note inaccessible areas rather than repeatedly wandering. Many objects have a specific purpose, so leave unusual items in a safe location until their use becomes clear.

Explore methodically around lifts, teleporters, switches, and force fields. Test hazards cautiously, keep an escape route available, and use BLOB’s movement abilities to reach platforms that initially appear inaccessible.
