Ryu
A disciplined martial artist who relies on the Hadoken, Shoryuken, and Tatsumaki Senpukyaku.
How it plays
Matches take place on a two-dimensional plane. Move with the directional pad, attack with punches and kicks, block by holding away from the opponent, and perform character-specific special moves with directional inputs.
Arcade mode follows a ladder of battles, while versus play supports direct matches. The game’s ISM system lets players select X-ISM, A-ISM, or V-ISM, changing super-combo behavior, defensive options, and the overall risk-reward balance. Winning fights and meeting conditions can unlock additional content.
Plan your run
Learn one reliable anti-air move and use it whenever the opponent jumps. Avoid throwing out special moves randomly; punish missed attacks after blocking or moving just outside their range.
Choose an ISM that matches your habits. A-ISM provides a conventional super-meter system, X-ISM increases power but limits options, and V-ISM rewards players who understand custom-combo timing. Practice canceling normal attacks into specials before attempting advanced combos.
Meet the cast

An exceptionally mobile investigator who combines rapid kicks with strong anti-air attacks.
The primary villain, using Psycho Power, Scissor Kicks, and oppressive forward pressure.
A dangerous secretive fighter whose moves emphasize immense damage and relentless offense.
Before you begin
Use training or versus matches to learn the timing of each character’s special moves.
Watch the opponent’s jump patterns and keep a suitable anti-air attack ready.
Do not spend the entire super gauge immediately if a round can be won with safer attacks.
Street Fighter Alpha 3 for Game Boy Advance is a one-on-one fighting game developed and published by Capcom. It adapts the large arcade title to Nintendo’s handheld while retaining its colorful presentation, selectable fighting styles, and broad character roster. Players choose a fighter, battle through a sequence of opponents, and use normal attacks, special moves, super combos, and defensive techniques. The handheld version was widely regarded as an impressive technical conversion because it offered many characters and substantial content on limited hardware, although its smaller screen and simplified controls distinguish it from the arcade release.
