Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The game uses a side-on court view during informal basketball matches. The objective is to outscore the opposing team before the game ends, using movement, passing, shots, rebounds, and defensive pressure.
Matches focus on short, arcade-oriented play rather than a season or career structure. Progression is match-based: success comes from learning court positioning, creating open shots, and preventing easy baskets.
Plan your run
Stay between the ball handler and the basket when defending, and avoid chasing the opponent too far from the scoring area.
On offense, pass before shooting when a defender is close. Move into open space, take higher-percentage shots near the basket, and recover quickly after missed attempts.
Before you begin
Use short passes to reduce the chance of losing possession.
Defensive positioning is usually more reliable than constant movement.
Practice the timing of shots before attempting long-range attempts.
Street Sports Basketball is an arcade-style basketball game developed and published by Epyx for DOS. It presents informal half-court games played on neighborhood courts rather than a licensed professional league. The emphasis is on quick matches, direct control, and playful street-sports atmosphere instead of detailed simulation. Players compete for points through shooting, passing, steals, and physical defense, with the computer handling the opposing side. Its simple presentation and approachable rules made it a recognizable entry in Epyx's Street Sports line, although its age and limited depth are apparent today. The game is best understood as a compact historical sports title for players interested in early computer basketball.
