How it plays
Arthur advances through side-scrolling stages viewed from the side. He jumps across platforms, climbs ladders, crouches, and throws weapons at zombies, demons, monsters, and bosses. Armor protects Arthur from one hit; a second hit leaves him in his underwear, and another hit costs a life.
The game contains the main Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts campaign and an additional mode derived from the original Ghosts 'n Goblins. Weapons have different ranges and trajectories, and the campaign requires collecting an appropriate weapon before the final confrontation. Checkpoints, limited lives, armor upgrades, and repeated stage runs form the main progression loop.
Plan your run
Treat each screen as a pattern to learn rather than rushing forward. Stop at the edge of a platform and clear enemies before committing to a jump.

Do not assume a second playthrough is a bug; the series traditionally requires repeated completion for its true ending.
Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts is a side-scrolling action platformer developed and published by Capcom for the Game Boy Advance. It follows the knight Arthur as he crosses haunted forests, cemeteries, castles, and other dangerous locations to rescue Princess Prin Prin from supernatural forces. The game combines deliberate platforming with rapid projectile combat, demanding careful positioning and memorization of enemy patterns. This version is a portable adaptation of the Super Nintendo game, with the original stages and difficulty preserved alongside an additional mode based on the earlier Ghosts 'n Goblins. Critics generally recognized its faithful presentation and substantial content, while also noting that its punishing difficulty could limit its appeal.
